There are some computer games out there where you can create all sorts of random stuff, but I forget what they're called.
its very well done this is true.. but NO graphics? even when the speakers go off under the glass to make it vibrate? bs.
Amazing video though :O
Actually, I seem to remember they had to fake one part of it, maybe two. If memory serves (and it rarely does) it's the bit with the rolling exhaust thingy, because it just refused to behave itself properly.

Note, some mild language but it's all "teh funny".

Making things move through vibration, especially when the object is as precisely balanced as in this advert, is entirely possible.
The only part 'faked' is that the tires were specially weighted to make sure they could roll uphill.
Physics is the daddy.
If i remember rightly, yes, there are some CG effects in it. It's where the exhaust rolls accross the floor, and i think they did it because they couldn't fit the whole thing on one set.
sugarhill gang!
i said a hip
hop
a hippy, a hippy to tha hip hip hop and ya don't stop tha rockin to the bang bang boogie say up jump tha boogie to tha rythm of the boogity beat~
Yeah, but I can't stand the 118 chumps.
The incredible machine! D:
I love that game. It's seriously awesome.

I've seen it and it's the greatest commercial known to man.
How is it sad if they had to use CG in two small places?
It's still an amazing freaking feat of science and you shouldn't flame it at all.
Do you ever EVER post more then one line? EVER?
Ya, it's old, but it's still good . I don't think they used any CG at all, the part where the tires go up the slope was the result of some careful weighting. Let me just emphasize that: NO CG was used!
isn't it annoying when someone always says how old something is? The internet is SO VAST we ALWAYS somehow see something others havent seen. It's not because a lot of you have seen it everyone has. And if there's nothing better to say than this one word, the post is probably much more worthless than someone who brought back up an INTERESTING subject.
Back on topic, I don't know how they made those 3 wheels go up the ramp. I must have missed something because I don't see how wheels can go upwards. Also, I know some artists make stuff like this. I saw once in art class (good thing we don't have those anymore) this video ~1 hour with a whole chain of stuff and starts with someone dropping a little bead. I'll try to get the artist's name/video name whenever I get it back.
edit: it's probably Rube Goldberg. Apparently he did this as well and I recall hearing his name somewhere. but stuffbergs are common and goldstuffs are common as well so .
As for the wheels going up it's *possible* I guess only very hard.
