What to do when your team needs a gorge
Usually, people tend to go straight out gorge at the beginning of the game.
This is fine, but what to do when your team needs a gorge, but you arnt that good at it?

The best thing to do, is to go skulking around, killing lone marines by camping and ambusing marines when they go through a door/archway time place.Simply camp ontop of the door, and drop down when they walk through it.
When you start building up kill resources, you can go gorge, and this generaly doesnt take much time as long as you have regen. (Unlessouy a noob)

Otherwise, if your team is a nubbish team, and no one goes gorge, go gorge, build a node, and start building OCs (offense chambers) at a good location with DCs backing it. Remember that OC kills are your kills, and once you build up enough, you should be able to build a few more resource nodes with 2 or more OCs prtecting it. Sooner or later, you will ahve a good res point buildup, and easily go build another hive.

Remember, people sacrifice your res points. If your team needs anther hive and you have 50 res points, go build that hive by using 10 res goign gorge and 40 for the hive.

When going pure defense when you know your teams not going to last too long using what tactics they are, take your time, build 15 or so offense chambers, (or what ever is the limit at a certian Space) and back them up with 6 defense or so. Try to go out and Go out building more to prevent them form getting clsoe yto your defended hive.
Trust me, its not that hard to see taht your teams not going to win fomr the very beginning, your team jsut sits around, half are AFK or maybe all the kills oyu see on the side are marine kills....
or maybe your score is the best even though you never killed a single erson. its a good idea to go all out defense, of course, there are those super siege tactics that you cant stand against...but you (and your OCs) died trying.

Of crouse, there are those times when the who marine team is rushing your hive...best thing to do is go the opposite way of the hive, your a gorge, get enough res points to build another hive and boom...there goes another hive and colny, sometimes abandoning youtr team is a good idea.

having played NS since it's release, I can safetly say that the key to winning is resnodes, if the aliens get there economy stalled, thats usally game

    GORGE! PLEASE!

more gorges running around the map frolicking* == more chance of winning, esp if you are gorge rushing

*by frolicking I mean dropping nodes, chambers etc, afterall gorge just wanna have fun

true, but it takes experiance to play gorge well, which is why i recomend the above tactics for noobs at gorge, but are being forced to go gorge for their teams sake

At the start of the game, I usually go gorge near a resnode and drop an RT there. Then I proceed to walk around the map gathering res for another rt and healspray skulks or just go skulk myself to kill some marines.

It's also important to be able to defend yourself as a gorge. I took on 3 people in cargo bay (origin) with myself and one OC and killed them all. I also killed 3 marines in Ventilation hive. Granted I was regaining from the hive, but still.

The power of gorges is amazing. I was once part of a group of pubbers that beat a marine team with a gorge rush, ELEVEN TIMES on THREE different maps! We just kept gorge rushing until they finally stopped us due to some poor coordination at the end. But seriously gorges in numbers are not a bad thing if you work together. You don't even have to rush the marine start. Just escort eachother to each res node and you will be unstoppable with 5-6 gorges and even less in a lot of cases. Thats on average how many gorges we had though. And we weren't even clan-stacked, just a bunch of pub regulars!

Eh I usually just go drop a resource tower relatively close to our starting hive, then try to be a combat medic for as long as possible. I've got some pretty insane spitting skills as well... all that being an idiot in desert combat = good. Oh F-16 flying by? *SMAW* , ofcourse those were the days of no stinger missiles for anti aircraft . Once you get that aiming to intercept down it seems to carry over to other games well.

and some more **** coming my way
no stopping them, but it takes a good team to do any good gorge rush, and you need to do it at the beginning, with a big team. heal them to death. ubild OCs in their base, its a mssicere, and you get to witness the slow distruction of their base (gorges arnt that good at destroying bases wiothout bile bomb) and at the beginning, you dont get bile bomb. Of corse, you get those super marines who spawn out of the portal right before the portal is killed and kills off like 5 or 6 gorges before dying somehow (that would be me being the marine once)
gorge is a powerful weapon, but they took at the babblers, which was extremely stupid, but the weba dn shoot technique at the end of the game works well too.

if 4 or 5 people gorge i dont see why they return to skulk. if we all get to gether we can block off key areas on the map fast. i have yet to see a gorge gang fail. if your not going to gorge rush the base build a wol just outside of siege range. with 4 or 5 gorges wol go up fast and are invincable to early lmg/sg fire.

i see it nearly every game we lose. 5 rts are put up and a few min later we are back down to 1 or 2 rts. why? you whent gorge got a rt and then whent back to skulk with out droping any lame. this leaves the map open for anyone to come along and kill your rts.

Gorges usually attract fire because they are slow and fat

ns_hera cargo bay (just outside of rine start late game)

We were losing and I was trying to kill this gorge in our base, he jumps down the hole with the doors and I go after him, he opens the door to reaveal a chamber farm, I was owned.

Goes to say don't underestimate gorges, they require support and time but otherwise they control the game alltogether.

Chasing a gorge is always a bad idea, its either running to friends or an OC nest.

And 9 times out of 10 someone will ALWAYS chase the gorge while swiping their knife. GG cloaked onos devour.
