Wee Problem

Ok, Few days ago I upgraded to steam, was away on vacation for a few months. Anyways, Dod works fine, as does CS and TFC. But whenever I try to boot up NS it gives me this really weird error, like 7 lines of code-looking text, and then boots me to windows. I did notice the background was odd (Like in DoD it's those 2 allied soldiers and stuff) When I try NS it's just Freeman with his shottie.

I did manage to make out of the error message that it said it couldn't find the NS folder.....

any ideas?

if u installed new mods like adrenaline gamer 6.5 or sven co op 3.0, they changed the fmod.dll to the latest (for some reason).
ns 2.0X over steam fails to work with the latest fmod.dll.
try to get a screenshot of the error and put it here.

If such is the case, how does one play SVEN and NS from the same directory?

The 29 Dec 2003 news article here contains the solution to your problem.

NS2.0 and svencoop3.0 use different versions of the same fmod.dll. Sven's one is a newer version that is not backwards compatible.

Unless I'm mistaken NS3.0 uses the new version so this won't be necessary in the future.
