ive been playing for ever, and am quite used to hopping around like an idiot in first person trying to bite people, and it does infact work, but the other day someone was yelling about 3rd person, and i was just wondering if you can do this in ns, as it does kick **** in vampire slayers

No, you can't. You used to be able to, but this was a bug exploit.

Let's say it IS sort of possible in NS, but you risk having set your camera bugging itself out, non-existent HUD and no res count at all.

Plus its an exploit because hey, you will know how close you are to them and know exactly when to bite. Not too good for balance.

It was 'exploiting' the fact you could look around corners...

despite the fact that Specialists managed to circumvent that problem.

Out of curiosity, how do they do it in The Specialists?

That was what we wish we knew they did, so we could let you know.

But if anyone doesn't know what they did in TS so you couldn't look around corners. They made it so you can't see models around corners. If I were Morfeo I would tell you, but I'm not.

What I do know is it has something to do with the first-person code. Something like not rendering player models through walls if it didn't feed into the first person camera. Of course there would be some issues with breakable walls :/

Ah so you could only see the map around the corner not actual models... thats pretty cool.

You interested in trying it max?

3rd person view, even if only specified for specific weapons, would be really really great. Especially for people who tend to overshoot their targets after getting the initial hit in.

Personally, I think it'd detract from the feel of the game. First person melee combat is more demanding than third person, and I prefer it that way

I have to agree with soulscorp as NS is not like Jedi knight: jedi academy where in third person sabre duels it looks awesome with all the twists and moves ns sorta lacks in the style department.

I think the first person is what really gives this game an edge to make it so different from other games. And i love the challenge skulk view creates.
