    I heard that StarCraft is so popular in South Korea they have trading cards and cereals based on it... It's kind of obvious, looking for North American games one of the most popular maps used to be Blue Night In Seoul (I think it still is), except with the text all 1337ed up.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> is it true they held a 'starcraft day' somewhere in korea and had lots of people running about dressed as terran and zerg beating each other up? o.O<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Maybe Blue Nights In Seoul are really like what they are in the game <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> (zerglings rushing early, carrier rushes just on their base just as the terrans are finishing the zerg with their siege tanks, etc.).

    Computer games in Korea are like sports in other countries. Good players get lots of money, respect and all the chicks <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> . Especially Starcraft - Brood war, but also some other games. There are deticated TV-programs for computer games. It was really amazing at first to hear about it, because where I live, gamers are no-life sweaty nerds with glasses <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I love gaming-channels, once i saw a StarCraft game, it was like 200ppl there watching <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Are there any audience on this games?
  • AgentOrangeAgentOrange Join Date: 2002-11-18 Member: 9244Members
    They showed the full audience once and there had to be 5000+ people there.

    We watched around 4 hours of Terran Vs Terran which wasn't too great untill the last match. Which was dropship heaven!

    But the previous Terran Vs Zerg matches were great. It was battle between science vessel + siege tank micro vs. lurker micro. Just when you thought the lurkers were gone like 6 more came with 100 zerglings!

    well i tried registering ns-sc-tv, but apparently gamesnet has something against hentai, I mean gaming streams...

    we had a fun session of starcraft, in which I reminded myself of how much I suck at that game (despite having played for longer then i've played NS) and why I'll probably never play it again.

    these SC guys really ARE the pros... i just watched a play by play, and the zerg guy built a respirator thingy on the OTHER guy's gas node, to plug it up and prevent him from building his own until he destroyed it! jeez.
