Try:
1) Adding wires and computer circuits
2) A sensing device
3) TSA Logo(s)
4) Keypads
I'll try and think up more.
And a silencer, and a grenade launcher, and a back-up minigun, and bayonets... Oh, wait... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Just kidding, man. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Maybe some dial things, like the flat pieces that stick out the right side of the Deepeyes helmet [the ones you can pinch, like oven dials]. Little glowing lights on the control panel.
When holding it [the V_ and P_models], the antenna could be down and the glowing lights could be off. Then they'd be extended and on in the W_model. The dials could be turned a little.
You could do something different and have a slightly more complex lens arrangement, with one big central one where the beam comes out, then a couple smaller ones around that would supposedly detect different visual spectrums or somesuch.
Maybe the antenna could be two fold-out moth-style feather-like things, which could be used to communicate with the comm chair when deciding who's friend and who's foe.
It could have a Santa hat on it... Again, just kidding. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
STRIPES! It needs STRIPES! Nah. Still just kidding.
A real pipe bomb is just that....a bomb made using a piece of pipe as its shell. Used because they don't require:
Circutry
Sensors
Expensive stuff
Not that that doesn't look cool though <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
A more common (and safer because it's simpler) method is to simply drill a hole in the pipe, stick in a fuse, and seal w/wax. Simply light and throw. This kind was used near the end of Terminator I. Except he had to be snooty about it and use plastic explosives...blackpowder can be quite an exceptional substitute <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I should stop before the ATF busts down my door 0_o
Kickass model btw.
