How is this possible?
ok, i have no idea what is happening here, i know i have to get the wpoly down in this shot, but how did it get so damn hihg in the first place? the compile i did before the current one, shown below, the wpoly was under 200 in this hallway...

also, there was lighting in my last compile, and it's gone now...

and, you probably can't see what the wpoly is cause i had to make the image lowest quality, because of that 66k filesize limit... anyways, it's 878...

Did you accidentally not run RAD?

yeah for some reason...rerunning VIS without RAD makes VIS useless...i dont know why...other people tell me you can run them in any order...but i've noticed that running VIS then RAD gives the best results

Maybe you've got a LEAK, that'll make it so VIS and RAD don't run.

Since the map is fullbright, you either have a leak, or haven't run RAD. It's probably a leak since VIS doesn't seem to have been run either.

Yeah, that shot looks fullbright. No one in their right mind would purposely make a fullbright hallway, so obviously rad didn't run here. And that usually means vis didn't run, which usually means you have a leak. This means that the player can see every poly in the map that is in that general direction. And if this isn't the case, then you probably used the carve tool.

this is why i always save my map after i created a new chamber/hallway (in a backup) and then check if it has leaks. It does? i know that they are in this chamber, and if i can't find it, i rebuild the chamber.

Running VIS and not RAD does not increase your r_speeds though, it just makes everything run slower.

My guess is that you have a LEAK. Look for any gaps leading into the void.

Definitely sounds like a leak. Open up the log file generated by the compile tools (should be called <name of map>.log) and take a look. And VIS not running as a result of a leak would definitely explain your higher r_speeds.

ok, i checked it, re-compioled, and it wasn't a leak, i guess i just didn't run rad, it's fine now, thanks for all the comments/suggestions
