Threads Mysteriously Disappear!

Film at 11...
Yesterday on S&I, I made a thread called "Re: Railguns." This thread was NOT suggesting that railguns go into the game, so don't even start your flame from that angle. Doomed to failure, it is. I made the thread, because railguns are a very common topic on said forum, despite the fact that said topic is invariably locked. The purpose of the thread was to inform, because everytime I see one of these topics there are huge factual inaccuracies regarding the hated piece of kit. Nobody seems to know just what a railgun really is, or how it works. I made that thread to discuss these misconceptions, in the hopes of dispelling them.

This thread has joined the choir invisible. It was not locked, which I could understand, given that SOMEBODY would probably use the thread to beg for railguns in the game yet again. It was not moved, as I find no marker anywhere. I have gone back a couple pages, and even searched for threads with my name in them, to no avail. I have no idea whether this was mod action or not, as I did not receive so much as a PM.

If it was indeed mod action which killed my beloved creation, basically what I ask for is recognition. Just tell me what you did with it, and why, that's all. Stealth modding is not ever a good thing. The rules will never be followed if you do not transmit what they are 5x5, and in a highly visible and public way. Let me be clear again: I understand that suggesting railguns go into the game is verboten, and that's not what I was doing. Nor was I discussing why they shouldn't go in. I was attempting to educate the denizens of S&I of the real-world, factual nature of Gauss weapons, so they'd have their facts straight the next time if they insisted on bringing it up again. If it's against forum rules to state certain facts simply because they're related to this other topic nobody wants to hear about, I'd like to know.

If it was deleted, that sucks. I'd have enjoyed reading that post.

That makes no sense. This is not communism, he deserves an answer.

Given that I was the mod who disposed of it, creating a duplicate thread to continue the discussion in a previously locked thread (which it appeared was the sole purpose of that new thread, ESPECIALLY with the Re: marker) is grounds for immediate thread-lock or delete. If it's locked, it's locked for a reason, and the thread is to be dropped.

With that explanation in mind, *LOCKED.*
