Beta 2.0's Menu Doesn't Appear

Sorry to post so much here, but now that I've installed NS Beta 2.0 for Steam, the popup menu (to upgrade and stuff for aliens) doesn't show up when I hit the button that makes it up. I hear the sound for it, and I can't look around (like when you have the menu up) but I can't see it...
