Help Me Choose My Classes For Next Year

A tad of a problem
Ok, here's the deal. I only have three required courses for my next year(senior) of high school. That leaves me five courses of my choice. I figure the past few years have been pretty stressful, and I deserve a less stressful year for my last. I'm probably going to load up on art classes, and a few blow-off classes. But now for the problem:

I don't have to take math this year. I like math, and I easily get A's on the tests, but I hate the homework, and rarely finish it(so that usually brings my grade down to a B or C). I want to take physics, but of course you have to be in Math 4 to take it. I'm thinking, I'm struggling through this year because I don't do my homework very often, so why take two demanding courses when I could just have two more blow off courses. But then again, one of those demanding courses is something that I might actually be interested in. Less work = Greater GPA. And I need a good one for college.

So I guess the question is: Is a horrible, stupid boring class a decent tradeoff for something that I'd like?

I'm probably going to end up going to an art college, so math and science aren't that important. There's an outside chance I'll get into game programming(so math and physics will help with that), but that's unlikely. But still, I'd like to learn about physics, even if I never have a use for it, but I also don't want to have to put up with the work involved with the two classes.

Any input on this will be terrificly appreciated. And I'd like to know how people who went through a similar problem dealed with it, and how they feel about it now.

    Don't take blow-off classes.

You'll appreciate a good set of high school classes when you start paying to take classes in college

First of all, your highschool GPA really isn't important unless you are planning to go straight to a university, and if you are planning on doing that, you better have scholarships or lots of money. If you go to community college for your GE you can bypass the highschool grades no problem. You just need to make sure that you get a great GPA in college.

I wish I would have taken an advanced bio class and an anatomy class this year, oh well.

When it comes to whether or not a boring class is better than a painful one or not, that depends on you. Despite the fact that what I mostly learned in high school was how to get by on the absolute minimum of work, I suggest you do the maths anyway. Oh, and I did Physics without doing G&T\Calculus (well, the prereques were probably different at my school to yours.)

And it depends whethter or not there are uni prereques you need.

I dunno... it isn't really something that's easy to give general advice on. It depends on you. Having said that, if you choose to do English Lit: you are insane.

Take the harder route, I mean, its not like your going to get a break once you decide to go to college. Its just going to get harder. Of course, if your used to working hard and roughing it, then it won't seem that different and you'll do better at college.

    /end theorizing

your probably going to end up at an art college, yet you get A's on all your math tests? go figure.

In college they generally dont give **** all about homework (grade 12 too usually)

I just took 2 free blocks instead of filling up my year excessively, and so far it is working out pretty good for me. I would recomend taking the harder path, and then not taking anything else you could do without, and using the extra free class time to do the "homework" that is taking away from your NS time at home

I wish I were in your shoes... Don't care about homework....

Oh yeah, if you're planning on going to college get a good work ethic, and do it soon! See counselors, anything! I'm suffering because I lacketh the ethic. Maybe I had too much SunnyD as a kid.
