i've been using some AVP2 for a while now, and i've finally decided to have a go at editing them, instead of moaning for someone else to do it for me, so that the arms fit with the AVP player model im using.
i found a model that had the arms i wanted and decompiled it to get the bit maps of the hands and arms. ithen i decompiled the smartgun model (as a start) and replaced the ns arms with the AVP arms.
now i have a problem. you see this is the first bit of modeling/editing i've done, so i used the sticky at the top (and very usefull it is too), but i dont really understand how to recompile the models.
maybe im stupid or something, but any help would be of great use, especially as i dont want to spend to much time on this as i should be revising for midterms that are coming up.

so you decompile, import the _ref smd's (from ns, and then the ones from your other model)
then switch the arms... go into "bones" and assign the same bones, the the same part of the new hands (you can do this without having them being in place...)
then move it into place, export to smd (use the same name as the _ref you imported)
tools ---> Half-Life ---> Compile QC
