<div class="IPBDescription">Displaying number of rt's</div> I remember reading at one point that having the number of rt's for each team (2 v 5, for example) every couple of minutes was just for testing and would be taken out in 3.0. Has it been taken out?
Yes. It was originally for testing purposes during the 1.1/2.0 Beta due to new resource systems. Shortly before the release, Flayra decided to let it in the game for pub play, but now it's gone
Dang. I always thought it was rather useful to be able to see how many nodes your team controlled, though I agree that letting the teams know each other's res situation isn't such a hot idea.

I'd imagine that there wouldn't be as much of a battle over resources and it'd be irritating going so thats why we lost, the rines had 6 res points. but i can see benefits from it aswell.
If you know what res nodes you control and what res nodes the other team definitely controls then when you see their number increase you can know instantly that they've just popped up another res node. Its a huge piece of intelligence that vastly affects gameplay.
I think the aliens should be able to pull up the # of resnodes they currently have, it makes sence in context with hivesite, and the rines would have the advantage of being able to ask thier com for a definative #. But I agree that nither team should be able to see the # of res nodes thier opponents have.

Besides, knowing the number your own team have just makes sense. It's something you'd know anyway (and certainly something the commander knows). It's just a pain to not have it as a nice on-demand number.

NSPlayer: Quick commander! How many nodes we got???!?!?!111 Comm: Er... one? NSPlayer: OMG aleins hve 9 nodes!
Bummer i used to use that node counter as part of my strategy to pull the team together to fight harder. "Guys they have 5 node's we will be doomed very shortly. C'mon kill those nodes and we are still in this game."

Ok well..so you have to go near them to make them appear on the map, but still!
