<div class="IPBDescription">To "Aliens/Marines Won the Game"</div> I saw a screenie on the Combat Screenshots thread where a person had replaced the messages as in the title. I was wondering how to do this, so I opened titles.text (from your NS folder) and looked for the part where it says it. I found the part, however the titles.txt document begins with saying "Do not alter this file". I was wondering if I can change

TeamTwoWon

Without borking my system. Anyone know?
(Btw, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread. None of the other forums seemed to scream "Post here!", so I defaulted to General Discussion)

I attached my titles.txt ( this is for 3.0, but it should work with yours too) below. The only thing changed are the messeges.

Thanks, Mojo, but I <i>have</i> 3.0 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->. Edit: I realized that Mojo is prolly talking to all you poor non-Constie/Vets out their. Stupid me.
So changing them isn't a problem? Do I have to check them as 'Read Only', or does NS leave them alone after that?
Thank goodness I have userconfig.cfg as read only. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I think it's okay, but you might have problems if a server later on has consistency on (Which 99.999% won't anyway.)

*Sniff* My poor chatbinds....
Whatever, I have a mic now anyway.
On subject, I'll be replacing them now and seeing if it kills my system.
As far as I know, changing isn't a problem. It has messed up a few times when I deleted parts of it and other such things ( I tried removing the hints back when 2.0 didn't turn them off with autohelp off), but as far as I know, changing a few words won't do anything. You can do it to alien and marine titles too.
Now to see if it works <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

You have just voided your warranty. Leet speak is the devil.
Edit: It should work, though, as long as you didn't change the code parts.
I especially love this one,
AlienAward
{
You just got resources for killing an enemy (If you see this message you can become vet!)
}
'j00 are being eaten'
instead of 'Your team has reached the maximum number of webs allowed'
'some n00b has been spamming webs'
and remember to back up your old titles.txt children, we dont want to reinstall
ObserverMessage
{
You are an observer. Have fun (lol).
}

As far as I know, yes. File consitency doesn't check titles.txt if I'm not mistaken.
Note by the way that Marines and Aliens are not always assigned to team one or two (they can be freely assigned by the mapper), so you could possibly be a little confused by the modified messages if you play many custom maps <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
WAIT, Just found the section for area names, muhahahaha <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
