Out of curiosity how many people actually use it? I know I've read before that even in clans it's rarely used for much beyond quickening the destruction of the marines base, (Which IMO isn't much of a use for it... it should be useful in other regards besides finishing a game you've already obviously won) but I can't seem to find those threads.

That'll change in 3.0 though, i might use it with the lerk bite but its really just support for your teammates.
I'm not asking how effective it is, I'm wondering how often people see it used. I almost never see it used. @ Dragon, except that requires A) A marine spawn with a decent area to AR from, B) Lots of fades. And you usually won't have both.

Remove Metabolize from Fade, give him PS and give the lerk SPikes again.
Reason:
Meta sucks, We need more ranged weps and the Fade would be more useful to have PS.

I don't use it very much except to break open turtles and to spike machine gun.

That's actually not a bad suggestion.
However, blink is the ability that should go. Metabolize is unique, blink isn't (blink is just a modified leap with a different name and another wav file attached to it). Give the fade increased movement speed and more armor to compensate.

Nooooo, not blink. Then we'd remove the unique thing about the fade. Plus it wouldn't have a reason for it's name anymore, so we'd have to call it "healer" because it heals itself with the metabolize, or maybe the "rocket launcher"... "swiper"?

Actually, it's just a five damage difference. Bite: 75, Swipe: 80 ('least I think so?)

IMO blink/swipe is the only thing that makes a fade a viable alien early game. It can clear res towers in minutes, and can take down 1 or 2 HMGers too with a spot of luck.
Replacing blink with PS is all very well, but rambo fades would just cease to exist. A fade is very hard to use as a team alien, simply because it moves so fast. *No* other alien can keep up. Without blink, it would just be a larger form of skulk. Skulks get leap hive 2, but fades start with blink. Without blink, what differentiates it from the skulk? Lots of health, and 10 (?) extra damage swipe vs bite.
That would nerf the fade big time. With hitboxes fixed in NS 3 it all spells spoilage.

Metabolize is probably the most useless ability, because when you use it, it nullifies the effect of regeneration. Regeneration heals about 22 health per click, metabolize heals 20. If you use metabolize while you have regeneration, it does not heal 42 health per click, however, but 20 per click.
Of course, you could go redemption or carapace fade, but that would make it impossible to heal while blinking away.
