Out of curiosity how many people actually use it? I know I've read before that even in clans it's rarely used for much beyond quickening the destruction of the marines base, (Which IMO isn't much of a use for it... it should be useful in other regards besides finishing a game you've already obviously won) but I can't seem to find those threads.

    Well, judging the fact that bite does 50 damage per bite, which definitely isn't enough for a lerk to kill people quickly, you're gonna see a slight boost of the use of primal scream because it raises your RoF

    I use it with the lerk spikes and adrenaline, i primal scream then switch to spikes and start shooting with an occasional umbra/spores.
    That'll change in 3.0 though, i might use it with the lerk bite but its really just support for your teammates.

    Primal scream is just awesome... primal + spikes in 2.0 = pwn. it doubles the RoF and adds ~20% to movement speed, kinda like a super cat pack for aliens. Course, it's not used much because it's hive 3, but it'd be way overpowered if you moved it down any.

    The best way to use Primal Scream is to get behind a pack of fades using Acid Rocket. Throw in a few nearby MCs and you can have hi-speed acidspam - IMO one of the best ways to crack open a turtling marine base.

    I'm not asking how effective it is, I'm wondering how often people see it used. I almost never see it used. @ Dragon, except that requires A) A marine spawn with a decent area to AR from, B) Lots of fades. And you usually won't have both.

    Even one fade (or any other Kharra that is attacking) using AR is greatly assisted by a Lerk using PS.

    You don't see it much as it's hive 3 and a lerk weapon. At hive 3 most people want to be gorge/fade/onos or they are playing with xeno. That's why you don't see it much.

    I always lerk on hive 3, even when on 100 res. Primal Scream raises not only walking speed and rate of fire, but it's a damage increase of 30%. A bit of primal scream, some spores doing increased damage, then perhaps some umbra for whoever's around me. And if they haven't changed it any in 3.0, and definitely if its effects stack with Focus, I'll continue to lerk and use it.

    Remove Metabolize from Fade, give him PS and give the lerk SPikes again.
    Reason:
    Meta sucks, We need more ranged weps and the Fade would be more useful to have PS.

    Primal scream isn't used much because you can't kill marines with it !

    Ive used it once, but i wasnt noticing anything, and when in a big battle , you rarly even look to go to it, im usually like

    That's actually not a bad suggestion.

    However, blink is the ability that should go. Metabolize is unique, blink isn't (blink is just a modified leap with a different name and another wav file attached to it). Give the fade increased movement speed and more armor to compensate.

    Primal scream also decreases the damage taken by all the aliens affected.

    Nooooo, not blink. Then we'd remove the unique thing about the fade. Plus it wouldn't have a reason for it's name anymore, so we'd have to call it "healer" because it heals itself with the metabolize, or maybe the "rocket launcher"... "swiper"?

    Actually, it's just a five damage difference. Bite: 75, Swipe: 80 ('least I think so?)

    Remove blink? Good grief no.

    IMO blink/swipe is the only thing that makes a fade a viable alien early game. It can clear res towers in minutes, and can take down 1 or 2 HMGers too with a spot of luck.

    Replacing blink with PS is all very well, but rambo fades would just cease to exist. A fade is very hard to use as a team alien, simply because it moves so fast. *No* other alien can keep up. Without blink, it would just be a larger form of skulk. Skulks get leap hive 2, but fades start with blink. Without blink, what differentiates it from the skulk? Lots of health, and 10 (?) extra damage swipe vs bite.

    That would nerf the fade big time. With hitboxes fixed in NS 3 it all spells spoilage.

    If you remove blink from the fade, it make the fade totally worthless. Blink is the thing that makes the fade a unique creature, if you remove it the fade is slow and vulnerable.

    Metabolize is probably the most useless ability, because when you use it, it nullifies the effect of regeneration. Regeneration heals about 22 health per click, metabolize heals 20. If you use metabolize while you have regeneration, it does not heal 42 health per click, however, but 20 per click.
    Of course, you could go redemption or carapace fade, but that would make it impossible to heal while blinking away.
