<div class="IPBDescription">whats taht all bout?</div> When some sais, I lamed up dbl....means he put like 3 or more ocs there with few dcs....
Now why the **** a strategic move to make ocs called laming?
I mean the whole perpose of ocs is to defend places, and you need a whole lot to kill a gang of marins, Why is that called laming?
(not that ppl treat it like laming...its just a saying which I DONT GET@!)

An area heavily fortified by OCs with DCs was given the name "Wall of Lame" in the 1.0 days because, with the balance at the time, it was almost impossible to take down those walls. The name just sort of stuck, there's nothing lame about it anymore. Don't worry.

Actually I think it was an exploit, WoLs (Wall of Lame) usually had two layers back then, OCs and DCs stacked up, and somthing that happened from it was seiges would only hit the top or the bottom, or just one, dunno, but the splash wouldn't transfer correctly.
Now yes it's just a quick term to describe a setup of OCs and maybe DCs that can stop a marine advance.

If he was insulting you, he's a tardmuffin, othewise he was just using the WoL reference to describe your defence, a lot of people do.

And the fact that back then all 8 DCs could heal the same thing(s) simultaneously.

WoL has turned into the BoD

BoD = Ball o Dewm - Sinking 8 OCs, four DCs, and an SC into one spot to make some horrifying mutant death machine that can hit any marine, as it has no blind spots, heals itself, and cloaks, and takes little to no room. A BoD can take down a level 3 HA in five or so volleys.

OTs are a massive waste of res for aliens.

    3 OTs = 3 DCs
    4 OTs = hive

Using an OT to take down an electrified node is a waste of time and res unless it is a last ditch attempt. Your fades should take down elecs if you are all working as a team properly. Alternatively, you can heal a skulk while it chomps.

    In the early game:
your res would be much better spent on more nodes, hives and your 3 def chambers. These all benefit your whole team across the whole map, not just in one place.

In the mid-game (2 hives onwards or nearly two hives):
The marines will have advanced weapons, and should be in a group, so they will just mow down your OTs. 3 rines with shotties will take down 3 OTs, get a couple of meds and move on. It will take them 10 seconds.

    In the late game:
    as above but more so.
If you are winning, build defs and sens near the front lines to support your team. If you are losing, see early game.

I am refereing here to games where both sides are competant and you have 5-8 players per team.

In smaller games OTs are quite powerful.

I am not saying I never use OTs, but I do so very sparingly.
