hey guys, got a problem with ns, well steam really. Ok i run my game in 1280 by 1040, with 60 fps always. but my text is the text sixe in 800 by 640. is there a way to fix this, if so please let me know.

    ok well theres the link... i didnt bother to read it again.. but if i remember correctly it had something in it about fixing fonts and stuff.. i think you have to delete some .txt files in your ns folder or something... click the link it will show you the way

    i think it has something to do with steam because alot of regulars on our servers have had the problem also

    Idiot. Get the hell over whatever problem you have with steam, because pretty soon you won't HAVE a choice. You hate steam...why? Because back when it first came out of beta you tried it and got burnt? Deal with it. Steam has advanced a -LOT- since initial release. It's actually one of the better things to happen to Half Life.

    But then again, I don't expect people who are clinging to WON to change their minds anyway. Have fun playing on WON.

    ...Oh. Wait. Soon enough you won't be able to.

    Anyway...I dunno why, but the fonts seem to be different ever since they put out that latest patch. I noticed it in Sven Coop yesterday myself, the chat font seemed slightly deformed or something. Not to mention the fact it was changing colour for no real reason (usually after the text is scrolled onto the top line as chat messages are sent).

    I am using the default (green) skin. Haven't changed it since install because I've not found any other which I've liked.

    yes, but its steam itself which is the problem

    whenever i laucnh a game, the screen is all out of proportion, soooooooo i minmize, maximize, its all black, minimize , maxmize, its right again, but the cross hair is at the bottom left of the screen, so then i have to change to wide screen, then to normal screen

    AND FINALY i can play my game <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I highly doubt this will occur in 3.0. If so it'll be resolved shortly thereafter.

    can someone please just tell me what to do to fix the problem???

    i dled that installer why before, and i am still having hte problem, and i also deleted and maximaized my proformance as the other post said to, the ns fixes and stuff. PLEASE HELP!

    your playing the 2.x steam beta NS and your text appears to be fuzzy or something f'ed up like that...

    only solution that i see left is get some high quality glasses and im not talking about librarian glasses... im talking about thouse huge MF'n scientist glasses

    I'm 'clinging' to WON because currently, Steam is suffering the kinds (and worse) of problem mentioned above. From what I hear (well, read) in these forums, WON had the same kinds of problems when it first came out. Therefore, thank goddess that WON exists and works fairly well, having had most kinks worked out by now so we can PLAY (rather than futz and tweak around with settings, code, etc.) while Steam is going through birth pangs and working its way up to being as reliable as WON currently is. I'll switch to Steam when I'm <b>forced </b> to, and not a moment before. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> Thanks again to all you players out there struggling, fighting and occasionally outright failing with Steam; by the time it's reliable and worth going to, it's YOUR efforts that will have paved the way.

    Fear, the way to change the font described above <u>works</u>. You have to be doing something wrong.
    If you are using the normal (green) steam skin, modify the TrackerScheme.res in the Steam/resource folder instead of the Steam/skins/skinname folder, or switch the skin over to the name of whatever the folder is named that the TrackerScheme.res is in that you just modified.
