Um, kinda crappy renders. Just use a skylight pointed at the model with raytracing and Bam! good renders. Nice model though, i like the design.

i need help with brazil's settings i think.
  • frostymoosefrostymoose Join Date: 2003-09-12 Member: 20799Members
I don't know anything about brazil in particular but that's a radiosity problem for sure.
  • BAshhBAshh Join Date: 2003-08-26 Member: 20222Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
and it's only screwing up on that model too, my AK rendered fine...

If your delorean isnt scaled to real-world values, that could be the problem.

edit [after seeing the new picture]: sorry I can't help you more with this since that didn't fix it completely. I've never had any experience with brazil.

i scaled it down a little (realizing i had modelled it huge in MS)... looks a little better.

Heh, the second i saw the thread name i knew it would have to be Back To The Future related. The rear end needs more detail however, it's extremely plain.

Rather than the standard rear end, go all out and put the full Back To The Future one on, Mr Fusion and all. Go on, you know you want to. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Is there a reason you're using brazil? 3ds max's built in renderer with radiosity renders fine for me. heres a render i did with 3ds maxs built in renderer:

because i like it better thats all. and no on the soopped up rear end man, i would but nah... just, nah. I might add more detail to the rear but not w/mr fusion or the coolant fans, nah.

Add a flux capacitor and you're in buisness.
  • ChronoChrono Local flyboy Join Date: 2003-08-05 Member: 18989Members
not only a flux capacitor you also need the little thingy in the middle to put the year in

nice work on the model but i noticed it doesnt have the back windows

    your model isnt accurate

you havent modelled michael j. fox. actually his butt is sessile with the seat of the delorean.... so you have to model him..

i live in the town the Delorean was made i even have a model plate from the front

just goes to show anything made here sinks like the titanic (no pun)
after it was banned from the roads after safety issues....

Cool, if you make a Delorian, I'll put it in my NS map <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Banned due to safety issues?

That's not true surely. I was informed that the company actually went bankrupt after making a few thousand of the vehicle. They destroyed around 8 making the Back To The Future films.

It can't be unsafe to drive. There is someone in the neighbouring town to mine who has one and drives it around...! I'm mighty jealous of him!

here it was removed from predution because of safty issues (ie. if the car tips over u cant open the doors plus the early models window opened very small leaving problems to exiting the car plus the engine was in the back if i remeber correctly)

tho i think u can still drive them now...
  • sheena_yanaisheena_yanai Join Date: 2002-12-23 Member: 11426Members
uhm.. so what about lamborginis...and..uhm... other cars with wingdoors.. also safety issues?
  • -Drake--Drake- -dn ʎɐʍ sıɥʇ- Join Date: 2003-04-02 Member: 15125Members
like i said u cant get through the windows of the delorean
also i think lamborginis and other modern cars would have safety messures to proptect against it

but meh its wot i heard..

and if i remeber correctly it was the first stainless steel car but plaged by faulty wireing meaning it would catch fire easly. and no space for a spare tyre...

    and btw bash nice model
  • sheena_yanaisheena_yanai Join Date: 2002-12-23 Member: 11426Members
yeah.. it was made of brushed stainless steel without finish, but it still got rust..
