i heard from somewhere that the creators of DoD were hired by valve and paid for the time they put into the mod, also were given houses up in washington, which was paid for too and etc otehr moving costs
think natural selection will get something like that?

I guessing that Valve will do their best to support any mod that they think looks promising enough. This may happen with the NS, it may not. It's up to Valve and the NS team as to whether they want to accept it or not.

I play hl mods all day long, so I have little time between hl, NS, and a few other things to read valve news, I remeber when Steam was relesed but I dont really know what it does... Any help please?
As far as I am aware, Valve's interest in NS is similar to that of someone's interest in hedgehog trying to cross a motorway at rushhour. They're standing in the distance egging us on, but also privately thinking "What the hell are they thinking?"
Who really knows for sure, though? Valve are a quiet lot.

When you get Steam, and go onto a mod of some sort, Steam will download the minimum necessary files to run the mod. After that, it runs in the background, downloading maps, models, and so forth, invisible to you. It really is revolutionary, and only a select group belongs to Steam. HL, OP4, TFC, CS, DoD, and, now, NS.
I hadn't heard this news on the DoD team, but it wouldn't surprise me. They did similar things to the TFC team, and the CS team. Hopefully, the same will happen to the NS team.
And, Merkaba, concerning your metaphor, just, HAHA!
