<div class="IPBDescription">Before or after?</div> I've just started using <i>Listerine</i> a couple of days ago, and it doesn't indicate when (before or after brushing) I should use it.

Anyone got any answers?

I assume you use listerine afterwords as scrubbing your teeth would remove all of the listerine off of you teeth.

listerine doest really stick to your teeth, its just like pouring dissinfectant over a cut.

    but for your mouth.

kills all the infestatio... eerr i mean germs.
use it once or 2x a day.

I usualy just use it after I brush and floss though so that way any stuff that is stuck in between your teeth is gone.

    PLuss it leaves your breath minty fresh <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Use it after brusing and flossing. twice a day, once in the morning when you wake up and at night before you go to bed (assuming you brush and floss your teeth before you go to bed).

TAK would be correct, you use it after brushing. Brushing breaks the biofilm (what that yellow crap on your teeth actually is) that the bacteria live in, allowing the listerine access and hence allowing it to smack them up. If you did it before brushing you wouldn't get an overly great effect because the bacteria would be safe behind their little wall of protein.

Incidently, I'm a microbiologist, so I know my stuff <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> Definitely use it after brushing for maximal effect.

Aside from metabolising various sugars and then crapping all over your teeth causing the enamel to melt away? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I remember one guy involved in dentistry saying something about mouthwashes just being coloured water with some things in for flavour to make people think it did something. Course, they didn't specifically mention listerine so who knows? ^~

But then again, why use Listerine with its alcohol which drys out your mouth?
Search for a mouthwath that doesn't contain alcohol; I reccomend Dentyl, it's <i>the</i> champion.

The Alchol is actually what makes it a relatively more effcient killer. The drying out your mouth is kinda part of the point.

Of course, I can certainly understand why you wouldn't want to use it if you could avoid it. I rarely use mouthwashes myself, I just use bacteria <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> Good game working with the man who developed Bliss eh <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I dunno about that... Dentyl is doing a better job of cleaning my teeth than Listerine ever did.

That's what I believe anyway. If it hurts me it must be pwning the microscopic bacteria.

*edit* I just replied to a topic about mouthwash. I need to get out more.*edit*
