    1: Allseeing eye uses less rescources as a passive application, has no adds, is not owned by idiots, does not have massive memory holes, and has fast dedicated servers to allow near-instant scanning. Gamespy... is gamespy.

    2: It's probally under half-Life, because NS is a half-life mod, so open that up.

    Yeah, browse to HL.exe in your Sierra\Half-Life folder.

    The All-Seeing Eye is a great server browser, Gamespy is <b>pew</b>.

    ur right,i found it, thanks
    but why is it it only finds 5 servers which are all empty? i selected the "2.01" filter

    make sure 2.01 is darkened

    make sure that you don't have checked "newer" or any map-folder selected.

    then scroll down and look at the "other filters" you might have checked.

    thats nice for you. I hope you are very happy together

    You need to make sure you have 2 hl setups - one pointing to your won HL and one pointing to your Steam HL. see what that does.

    I've been using a registered copy of Gamespy 3D (not arcade) since my online gaming debut and I have zero complaints.

    I tried using ASE once... it was quite odd and different. I quickly uninstalled it.

    So quit bashing gamespy.

    To each his pwn.
    If you're used to GSA, I'm sure you can use that better than a [to you]entirely new product.
    Personally I haven't used GSA, so I'll refrain from commenting.

    I've used Gamespy Arcade and currently use All-Seeing Eye. I'm so glad I ditched GSA, because frankly it sucks. Its bloaty, slow, ad-ridden and produced by a company of idiots that I really want no part of unless I have to.

    Agreed. What's wrong with just the inbuilt server browser? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I use Gpsy as my ad blocker nukes the ads, and all of my contacts use gspy. Admittedly, ASE is infinitely more l33t, even if it is somewhat... dodgy.

    Still, I agree with Align. Each to his pwn. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Gone were the days where you connected to your fave server via a shortcut on the desktop.

    Meh, I don't see the point of paying for a server browser...I find ASE to do the job much better than GameSpy. Then again, I didn't pay for it (I never would <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->), I used the free version...so the results could vary.

    I'm not here to start a flame-war, so I'll finish by saying that I guess it just comes down to personal opinion...

    <b>Why do I use ASE?</b>
    Because it is fast. I can see instantly to which server connect and how much people there are in it.
    I can put favourites by each game (type), sort by geographical location, filter by that or by server name, type etc.

    Steam browser is clumsy and slow. It's options are limited (filtering). And again... it is slow. I've noticed that Steam doesn't show all the servers I see trough ASE.

    <b>Why do I pay for ASE?</b>
    First, I got fed up waiting those server scans. Second, I like to support good software. I used ASE about half year without licence but I realized that it feels good to use software I actually own. I am there to support ASE development. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Anyway I'd pay NS licence too if it woudn't require credit card. (Debit card system doesn't work from Finland).

    Some of my friends use ASE others Gamespy. As said before, let people use what they like.

    If you already paid for GSA, you should probably keep using it(I assume there are no ads and other annoying stuff then?), but if you're looking for which is the best if you're not willing to pay[at all], then you should probably go with ASE... there are probably other programs just as good, but they're harder to find. Since not everyone knows about them. Yet.
    Did we even link ASE? <a href='http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html' target='_blank'>The All-Seeing Eye</a>
