Ns Error On Startup, New As Far As I've Read...

<div class="IPBDescription">Ns startup error</div> I just bought the half-life generation edition after using the game of the year edition I got with a video card for about 3 months. natural selection worked fine under the previous version, but now that I have v45 1.1.08 of half-life every time I start the game I recieve this error when I go to multiplayer -> internet games:

"Your Natural Selection executable is out of date. Natural Selection will now update"

When you choose yes it kicks you out of the game and starts sierra update utility, at which point it goes through and informs me that I have the most current version and closes.

I am puzzled as to why this is. Especially when it worked fine with version 1.5.

If anyone can help me with a suggestion other than reinstall I would be very greatful. I have the latest version of everything and have since reinstalled everything, steam is another issue altogether because it has never worked. Ns version is 2.0. I've included an image of the error.

then downlaod the 3.0 beta from the NS.org downloads page <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

read up: "steam is another issue altogether, it hasn't ever worked"
reason, someone jacked and registered my cd key before i even bought the game.
