Ns 3.0 Conflicting With Cs

Since Iinstalled NS 3.0 beta and played it, the gamma, brightness, contrast, and overall lighting settings for Counter-Strike have been completely messed up. Some textures even burn (yes, they turn BLACK) as i point to them with a flashlight.
Natural Selection seems to run fine, but I want my CS back. Oh and i can't seem to be joining CS servers either, since I installed CS. Some lamez0r error about "server authentication". on EVERY single server.
