Another quick question...

Regarding aliens and ladders.
This has been mentioned before, but I don't think it was ever given a direct answer. Are all of the aliens able to climb ladders? Any?

Because of r_speeds limitations, I am being forced to place a couple ladders in place of a functioning lift in a certain area where alien access is absolutely essential. A hive.

If any one of the aliens cannot climb ladders, the area will need to undergo some major feature elimination... I've already done all I can to reduce the wpoly. The next step in poly reduction if I can't use ladders here is the removal of some major features... I don't like that thought.

If this is the case and level five cannot, does anyone have any information on how high he can jump? (Now there's a scary thought&#33

I really can't imagine level 2 or 5 climbing a ladder due to their stance. I'm hoping the team has some workaround for this.

The only aliens that even *look* like they could climb ladders are the level 3 and level 4. L1 couldn't with his claws, but that doesnt matter because he can climb regular walls anyway. L2 doesn't seem to have much flexability in the wrist -- ever seen a small elephant climb a ladder? L5, obviously, couldn't, because aside from being a huge, lumbering beast, he's got worse feet for ladders than L2.

L3 seems to have some nice curved front claws, and ok feet for climbing, and L4 definitely has the feet... I don't know how he'd use those claws for climbing.

*shrug* lets get an expert in here :-)

All the aliens can climb ladders. I agree that it may look a bit funny, but I think it's dangerous to remove physical capabilities from the aliens on account of realism. This might change in the future, but I doubt it.
