Can Ns 3.0 Run Without Steam?

I am on a college campus whose proxy does not allow steam to connect. I have a 3.0 server setup, but the 3.0 client will not install. Is there anyway to get 3.0 installed without steam? Also, does NS 3.0 have to connect to steam everytime you play NS after it is installed? Thanks.

You can copy the nsp folder to your old Half-Life directory. It will act like a new mod.

the ns install file just creates it.

So if I can get it installed somewhere off campus, then I can copy that folder to other people's computers and then it will work?

all we need to know is what the game name is called then you can just copy paste it in

like for gamespy (if you are registered) your game type is "ns"
