Pros:
+ Best infestation in a map. Ever.
+ Excellent custom textures that suit the geometry and style well.
+ Seems to have feature a decent layout, although I'd have to play it with proper teams.
Cons:
- Crazy r_speeds in places, such as the marine start where it peaks at 850!
- Ready room has little atmosphere, due to a lack of ambient sounds and particle systems.
- Some particle systems such as bursting steam have no sound; seems a bit odd.
If you can sort these issues, then then map deserves to be official really.
Only I fond just one little texture bug... Above the hive there is infestation but it still has some blue in it, probably not true blue "0 0 255". A simple texture fix
Good job Sir...

Hmm, I can't even get my ns3 install to work (some crap about steam not working errors), but I'm going to download this and try and look at it in my old NS just to see what all this raving about the infestation is all about!
That's really inspired me to make some alien lair now...! Not just in Natural Selection, but my house! *starts decorating*
r_speeds @ 850 isnt that high ... the minimum u gotta have now is GF 4 <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I have a GF4 Ti4200, and it still shudders when the r_speeds peak. You could have a Radeon 9800 and it would still jerk, as it's the HL engine getting pushed past the limits of what it can handle smoothly.
Also i think the pillars in the hive room are just too blocky and simply don't work.

It's not exactly lag, just the mouse suddenly becomes slower as if the FPS are taking a dive. I can live with it for such a fine map <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
very pretty btw. ^_^ i like your custom texes a lot.
And of course the machines of today wont have a fps drop if you turn of everything (FSAA, Antisotopic filtering etc...) Turn them up to the highest level people and see you fps die!
850 however, if its no a important fighting area I think one can get away with it <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
[edit]
<b>My specs:</b>
Sapphire Radeon 9800XT 256mb (with the samsung 2.8 nanosecs memchips, very fast)
AMD barton 2500+ overcloaked to 2200mhz
Geil 512mb ddr 400mhz (200fsb)
Even with this system the fps will drop if I turn everything up to the highest level, but still wont have problems with newer games on these setting. So I would say half-life is @ its maximum, on graphics since the newer games make use of new/more efficient 3d rendering codes in the directX 8.0 and 9.0 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It suffers from corridor - room - corridor - room syndrome. Much of the areas are flat and lack any height variations or jetpack/lerk friendly areas. I really doubt players will be looking up or down to track their targets, which is a shame since Combat is basically Team Deathmatch.
