<div class="IPBDescription">'Combat' / 'Mixed' / 'Classic' for now</div> This is a plea to all the server admins here.
Please name your server such that it is evident if you are a Combat-only server, a NS-only server or if you run both maps. Filtering on map name brings out a whole load of mixed servers, where you end up leaving after one game if you don't wish to play both modes at that time. So, just as you have made the choice to run a combat-only or a classic-only server, make that choice visible to everyone.
Right now, I would propose tags as such.
<ul><li>Combat: combat-only server, only co_* maps.</li><li>Mixed: normal map-cycle, both co_* and ns_* maps.</li><li>Classic: ns-only server, only ns_* maps.</li></ul>
You enclosing them in [] is probably okay, but not necessary I think. In the future, some shorter tags such us [NS] and [CO] and so would probably be nice, but right now those will most likely be too confusing because it's all too new to everyone. The longer forms I proposed stand out well enough so people will ask "What does classic mean in the name of the server?" and so on. Later on a canonical form of short tags should be agreed upon.
I hope everyone will see the sanity in this, regardless of what game-mode you like personally.
Also, a less crucial point after a while, and a more obvious one - please also tag your servers based on you running beta 1 or 2 - there I would propose 'NS3.0b2' and 'NS3.0b1' since there isn't a lot of room for misunderstanding there. It sucks to have to try and filter on 'NS 3.0 beta 2' as well as those.
Thank you for understanding.
