Umm.. Problem With 3.0 Beta 2

<div class="IPBDescription">... can't play?</div> I had 3.0 Beta 1, and I just installed 3.0 Beta 2, yet my steam still uses 3.0 Beta 1.
How do i update my steam to use 3.0 Beta 2?

Try connecting to different servers, some of the servers aren't updated yet.

actually you probably trying to play on a server that is still playing beta 1 where as you have beta 2 <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

no because i tried joining servers that said 3.0 B2 at the end of the name, and i get something like "your client blah blah differs from the servers", and i can join 3.0 servers
in fact,when i ask the people i nthe game, they say "3.0 beta 2 is out?"

they don't even know it's out so i'm still on beta 1 obviously

The installation path for the patch should point to your Half-life directory, not your NSP directory. This orginally screwed me up as well.

yeh i cant connect to beta 2 servers because my client.dll differs from the servers or something <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

How do i make it point to my HL directory instead of my NS directory?

When the patcher asks for the installation directory, type in this:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\youremail@blah.blah\half-life\

Of course, this could change if you installed steam somewhere else.

Actually, mine pointed itself to my C:\blahblah\steamapps\myemail\ directory, not the HL directory inside it, and it works fine.

Okay, Dont point it to the half-life folder...This will map it likes this Half-life/half-life/nsp......Point it to the email folder...It will tell you the half-life dir already exists just click yes to install anyway...this had me confused for a while to lol..

If that doesn't work either, install it to the desktop then copy the files across manually.

erm... where is beta 2 at? (never heard word it was out... his computeres HD died... so he's now on his dad's machine)

Fixed.

I tried installing to each folder, no good. So I unsinstalled and reinstalled BOTH betas. Now I am working.

you guys probably installed it into the wrong folder. if not, try reinstalling both.

ok now i reinstalled both betas, and now steam doesn't detect Natural Selection... WTHffffffffffff
