The laser was great if you were playing aliens, as it basically shouted "Hey aliens! I'm coming towards you. Please ambush me!" <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
You know, I have one simple request...and that is to have marines with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads. Now evidently, my cycloptic colleague informs me that that can't be done. Ah, can you please remind me what I pay you people for? Honestly, throw me a bone here...what do we have?
Buuut, maybe I can explain the lazer theory which mine will be completly wrong!
Anyways, heres what I think. The lazer is cyberly connected to the gun the marine is carrying. Where ever he is pointing the gun at, the lazer on his head pivots to that position for an easy aiming system. The lazer itself draws the crosshair up onto the marines HUD inside his helmet.
Know "Splinter Cell" ? When you are sitting in the complete dark with 3 little Christmas lights on ur head, they dont see you...lol...it's kinda like this... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
A few 2.01 servers on WON had the plugin kicking around. Sadly I only found one and never bookmarked. Man it was SO cool to see all those lasers flying around. Again bad for marines who go solo, but must scare skulks to see 5+ lasers bobbing around the corner. Would be neat... hard to balance out though unless it was controlled with an on/off.
The laser would most likely be used for aiming and tracking. It would be great (but hard to do) if instead of the circle used for motion tracking, the laser followed around the target, as long as it was in the feild of view of the marine.
Would be cool, and cut back on some of the crazy quasi wall hacking skill

Laser sight is used to spot for sieges.
