Problems With Installation

I couldn't find the stupid reply button so i had to make a new thread. Anyway I downloaded a file called ns_install_v3_b1 it was a 155 mb from fileplanet but when i double click on the install file it says "Steam with proper thirdparty mod support is not installed" :What the hell! I went back to the site and i saw this file steam for 200 something megs... I am on 56 k peoples! i didnt download that. And then i read that you didnt have to have steam.

Ok so i have that one file. So what do i do now to get it installed?

    you have to install stream first.

    Make life for yourself much easier and download the Half-Life cache of steam. You could try the 500k version, it worked for me when I was on 56k, but it's probably better to get the cache one. Just leave it downloading overnight.
