I had tried to do a search to see if it had already been posted, but it didn't turn anything up. In the thread I linked to, she actually has in-progress shots showing the painting's progress.

I didn't do this myself, but somebody posted the URL on IRC, and I was quite impressed:

I'm extremely impressed... I tried to check out some of her other NS artwork, but her page is having some trouble it seems, as they all gave 404s.

Just a nit-pick storywise but do the Kharra have a home planet? I always believed them to be a race of bacteria that just moved around.

ok i said i havent read a story of where the kharaa EXACTLY came forom or how they exactly began, so i thought of where the kharaa may have began, before the wars began,, before the meeting, before marines and kharaa ever came across eachother..

considering some maps on ns are on planets and different places, the kharaa must have come from a planet, otherwise how else could you explain their anonamouse appearences on random ships and docks?

I think the story is its bacteria. The bacteria forms a hive, level 1 which creates skulks. Level 2 is lerks/fades and level 3 is onos. The bacteria has always killed the marines with level 3 so no one knows what is level 4.

I think that is the basic story.
