Question: Why Does Meta Take Energy To Use?

<div class="IPBDescription">Yes it's weird...</div> Meta was changed so that it gives you energy, which is a GREAT IDEA AND CHANGE!!! I love it.

However, before you can use meta, you need a certain amount of energy.

Bug, or feature? It would seem to me that meta should always work regardless of your energy level.

Ah, it was changed? Hmm, must have missed that. I noticed ingame that it gave me energy, and was thinking it was a bug. So perhaps the bug is that even though it gives you energy it still has its base energy requirement. Yeah, now I'm curious if this is a bug or a feature.

I think feature. It's so you can't blink all over the place and then get all your energy back real quick.

Yea, the new meta allows the fade to keep downtime to a minimum - blink in, swipe, blink out, meta, meta, meta, blink in, swipe... etc.. regen fades are wonderful in that respect...

Only problem is leaving meta in as previous used weapon and try to meta yourself out of combat :-(

Personally I have slot1 on Q, slot2 on E and slot3 on right mouse. I use Metabolize every second I get, including in the middle of a blink in the enemy base. I've taken to switching to Blink, holding down the button, immediately switching to Meta and getting off a quick use of it before I hit the ground. I've also experimented a little with doing +attack in the console, using Metabolize as the "default" selection and just switching briefly to Blink or Swipe as needed. Definitely a learning curve on that but I think it has potential.

Lol - yea, the one problem with the new Fade is that it may be too expert friendly - ie, in skilled hands, it can rock all over the place. OTOH, I have a hard time seeing it surviving against a couple of skilled shotgunners... even with celerity blink.

That's been a Fade problem since 2.0. I don't think it's ever going to be fixed, and believe me, we've asked.
