    ummmmm

your not alowed to install it in a different folder.

The way steam works is that you HAVE to install it into:
    *****Steam\SteamApps\your@email\Half-Life\nsp

so all you actualy do is point the installer at your steam dir and it does the rest (note it asked for your steam dir NOT where you wanted to install it)

    sory, mate.

note, I might be wrong about this, but I would suggest actualy ussing steams file management system simply b/c it is actualy ok.

so you installed beta 2? Because my steam works ok, and launching Natural Selection beta works fine, but...when I try to join a server it says that my .dll differs from the servers. So I reinstall NS version 3.0 to the desktop, then copy it to that directory? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Aye mate, did the same thing, only more manual, installed to desktop then manually put each individual file into the folders allready in place, replacing the old files. I dont know why the install doesnt work right like it should.

just to make sure that I got this straight

you people HAVE tried to do it the proper way:

    1) Remove your NSP Dir if you were a vet/constie/pt
    2) Install the beta 1 client (this does NOT give you a choce as to where to install)
    3) Patch it withe Beta 2, this time your path will look like this:
    c:\games\steam\steamapps\Email\half-life

    and it didn't work?

this has confused me beyond all comprehension. How can I just uninstall all of the NS files that I have, then start over again? how do I uninstall NS?
