Saving my particle system configurations in ns?

<div class="IPBDescription">Somebody help!</div>I did a search for this, and couldn't find any help, so sorry if this is coming up again.

I have got the hang of the Particle System editing within the game with the sliders thanks to all your help and the tutorial. But!

It's all very well playing around with these things in game, making the particle systems look as cool as ever, but when I make note of all the particle scales, sizes, generation rates etc. and put them into the fields in Worldcraft and run it, it looks nothing like what I made it look like before.

Is there a way of editing my particle entity within the game, and then saving that, so it will be like it the next time I load it? ...... or am I being ridiculous?

Thanks everyone, I'm gonna make you one killer map after all this... <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

Sounds to me like you're doing it right..hmmm well, thats certainly how I've been doing it..

Are you sure you haven't just entered the numbers in a field incorrectly, missed a decimal point or something? If you have checked that, check your flags..( start on, world gravity and that)

Other than that, no idea sorry..

No.   There isn't a way to save the settings.  It seems very odd that the particles aren't behaving exactly as shown when you enter in the copied values though.  It has always worked for me.  My advice would be to just hold off on the particle effects until after the rest of the map is completed (unless you are already at that point).  Hopefully, by that time NS should be out and you can use the latest fgd.  Most of the name fields are no longer the same as they were in the NSTR2 for particles (if I remember correctly), so you would have to go back and redo all of your particle systems anyway.

Hmm, I will go back and redo it. I'll let you know of my results... thanks anyway!

I find that NSTR can be quite temperomental. It didn't work earlier, so I started over again and it worked, and I can't see anything that I did differently, I just changed the values in WorldCraft and it worked. Oh well.

I managed to create some awesome smoke effects, which I can't wait to put into my levels. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    Thanks for the help guys

The reason my posts now have my name and URL twice on them is because I've just made my signature... whoops...!
