Marine With An Hmg

It is what it says.
So I was scribbling with my pencil, doodling, if you will... and eventually came up with this drawing, I scanned it in, didn't like it, re-drew portions of it, scanned it again, tweaked it a bit, inked the pencil then scanned the final time.

Then I colored it in Photoshop (with a quick break for a random virus cleaning... ech). So here it is.

I notice that he has a bit of a 'dwarf' quality to him, I blame the HMG blocking the lower section of his body armor, and also my not drawing the belt/pouches on him.

Not bad! The head looks a bit off, and I'd think he'd be facing where he's firing, but other than that it's nice.

Yeah, I always see stuff I would've liked to change once I finish the drawing/coloring. It's kind of annoying, but I guess that's the kind of stuff you learn from.

This is also the second version of the drawing, if I'd redrawn it a few times it would've probably been better.

The more I look at it, the better it looks...the only thing that gets to me is how he isn't looking where he's firing...maybe some text saying, "Oops!" would clear it up?

Maybe he's too experienced, and doesn't really have to look anymore, as if he's thinking, "Just another day at the office..."

Very very nice picture! I love the marine's face and expression. The only thing that's bothering me is the muzzle. I suggest you remove it, since his pose is really not 'combat-ish'... Would be better if you just left him alone in the picture, makes a nice 'I-am-cool' pose.

Once again, a very nice drawing by Vandori.

    Though I have some suggestions....

His upperbody seems unproportional with his upper leg region.
The front of his shoes, or boots, just don't seem right. Maybe add dirt/blood stain, or more detail.
His hands look like blobs, unless he is wearing snow mittens or something.
His facial expression is unique, but I believe that isn't the right one for this pose.
Like someone said, his head is on a bad axis.

These are just some tips, or things I noticed that could improve your drawing.

Like I mentioned before, you DO have talent, and I'm just trying to bring you to your full potential persay.

Very nice, but as others said, there is something about the head that isn't quite right. Perhaps you should try opening his mouth, with clenched teeth?

nothing's wrong with the head, its just the upper body is too small.
