I bought Sonic CD (originally for the SegaCD addon for the Genesis) for $5 at a supermarket, and I saw Sonic 3 + Knuckles in a bargain bin at Radio Shack... So yeah, they're out there.

Shockingly, you could just *gasp* search on Gamefaqs or any other site for Sonic games under the PC section.

I have the Sonic & Knuckles Collection game for PC, I'll send it to you for 500 USD.

It's what you would get if you had a Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 plugged into Sonic & Knuckles.

By the way, you may encounter some issues if you're not running on an old processor or Windows XP (it will go so fast it's unplayable)...

Sonic the Hegdehog was my first and favorite game until I got my hands on Duke Nukem 3D, at which point it became "pansy-a** s***." My mom was wondering for weeks where the famous bubblegum line had come from...

But of course everyone knows about those emulators, and that Vectorman was the best Genesis game ever.

THey have ways around this, some kind of program, I forget what it is called, if you really want to know, then Google is your friend.

I have every sonic game ever made for the game gear, I still play them too!

Jazz Jackrabbit beats Mario and Sonic. Sonic's speed + gun = goodbye to our pixellated Italian plumbers.

Back on-topic, let's try to remain aware that emulators count as warez unless you have the legal rights to the game. Ebay links and such for original cartridges are fine, of course.

Actually I don't think the emulator counts as warez, just whatever you're emulating And we can safely assume that EVERYONE emulating a game ALWAYS owns the original for themselves... unless you want to prove otherwise, Marik

Well, there's Sonic-R, of which I own two copies (thought the first one's CD died so bought another when I saw it in the bin... then found the compatability patch).
Traditional Sonic games, there have been a number of PC re-releases... though I'm still trying to find an actual SonicCD disc to go with my Gen1 Genesis + SegaCD stack (Yes, it has the tray)... maybe a first-gen 32X as well, to finish it out.

Just as a note, there will be NO posting/linking of ROMs, BIOS images, or sites containing them on these forums, regardless of legality on the part of the poster or intended receiver.

In short, yes. There were Sonic games ported to/made for PC.

I remember there being ports of the 2d sonic's into Win 95. And recently, Sega ported Sonic Adventures to the PC. You can get the Jap demo's here: http://www.sega.co.jp/pc/sonicdx/trial.html

No idea where you can get the english demo but it exists.

And Marik, don't even try to convince us Jazz Jackrabbit was good. Next we'll be saying Wacky Races was as good as Mario Kart.

Hungry Sonic, Sonic goes Skiing and Sonic and the Spiders. Great games. Wait a minute, they were for the speccy. Oh well.

So, we're all in agreement that Green Hill Zone and Starlight Zone contain the best music of all the Sonic games? Special Stage from Sonic 1 also makes me tingly. Sonic-R gets bonus points for its cringe-worthy yet oddly compelling OST, though. Rock-ston!

And hey, though Sonic Adventure 2 was a pretty bad Sonic game (I want to run around fast, not play a dull robot lock-on thing, yes thanks), it was worth the asking price and much more just for its remake of Green Hill Zone. I cried a little.

    Hungry Horace the WINNOR!

And if you haven't figured out how to use gamefaqs, then you've no right to be using the net and sucking up bandwidth best used by other, more clued up people.

    Moo.

What was so bad about that classic? It's a good game.
