<div class="IPBDescription">i don`t know it.</div> Can someone say me how I can change the port for playing NS?

I need to know it, because Iam sitting behind a router...

+clientport 27901 behind the Steam.exe doesn`t work.

So, how can I play with friends on the same server?

    You only need to play with ports if you are HOSTING a server

    otherwise a simple firewall will not do anytihng.

    If you are at a college or something tthen that is a differant mater.

    (note I am behind a compleatly stealthed fire wall, it effects me in no way shape or form)

    This is my problem:

    Iam behind a router (at home). That means, we are four pc`s who uses the same internetconnection.

    In Natural Selection 2.01 it was possible to add some notes (+clientport xxxxx) in the commandline of the .exe File to play with more than one pc on the same server.

    Now, the damn problem is we can`t join the same server (Errormessage...) because we dont have changed the connection-port in the .exe File.

    You can`t join the same server with more than one pc with the same port if you use a router... .

    Got it?

    ok, explainging that you were trying to join the same server from the same IP would have helped (you just said you wanted to know how to get around a router(aka a firewall generaly))

    Try this:

    Open up steam, go to the games tab
    rightclick on nsp and tell it to create a desktop shortcut.

    Now go to said shortcut and add said commands.

    Hm.

    I already tried this command-lines in the Steam-Shortcut:

    C:\Programme\Steam\Steam.exe +clientport 27901

    C:\Programme\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 70 -game ns +clientport 27901

    and I don`t know why this won`t work...

    In addition: If I add the second command-line, I do only see 12 games. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    An other mysterious problem:

    If I copy the whole NSP folder and paste it in the Half-Life Folder (the old Version without steam), Iam able to start NS over WON...., and what I see is the same what I said my post before...

    12 Servers....

    I cannot explain it to me. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I've played on the same server with two computers behind NAT router, the Alcatel Speedtouch Pro, generally regarded as the most useless piece of crap that ever existed, exists or will exist.

    Are you sure this is causing the problem? What is the errormessage exactly?

    Raptor, fix that avatar.

    I've had the same problem here, sometimes steam crashes when my brother and me play simultaneously, but it ALWAYS crashed when we tried to play WON-hl and steam hl at the same time... really odd.

    If we`re joining the same server, one of us can play, the other tries to connect......reconnect (1).......reconnect (2) ... and so on. 4 Times.

    We had the same problem over WON. So we added the command line i described above and it works.
