More ns_sync layout

<div class="IPBDescription">2 unworthy pix</div>ok...so enough detailing...I had to get back to the layout.  What you guys have seen so far are two routes to two hives through the industrial and engineering sections respectively.  The third and final route (to the third and final hive) is through the community/living quarters.  This shot is a basic design of the rec room.  It's by no means finalized...but i do like the basic geometry.  

I blew up the r_speeds since everyone seems to be going crazy about them lately.

    If I were in a game...I'd think that was detailed enough...Of course, a few furniture and stuff...Amazingly sweet.  I could imagine running away from some aliens, getting into this room, and gazing in awe, then getting killed...

    Looks great from the outside, inside looks a little bit too clean... or too dirty, depending on what you're looking at. If that makes any sense. I'm sure that'll be ironed out, though, as you and cliff do some great texture work in your maps -- both with creating and using them.

    For the most part, in looking at these pics, if it weren't for the fact that I see the NS logo on the side and a few ns.wad textures in the screens (not to mention the fact that this is an NS forum, heh), I'd have no idea that it's a Natural Selection map. Normally that might not be a good thing, but given the shots you've shown so far, I'd say it is. A great spot to forget about where you are... until those claws spear through your back. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    What's in the space under the railing?

    Would they really have a rusty railing in the community centre?  There is a non-rusty one in the WAD.

    That just looks amazing! i agree with the door texture not matching up, but i'm sure you'll work on it some more.

    Looking really good! Can't wait to see it with the new textures Cliff is doing! Hm, maybe put a clip brush to prevent people from jumping over the railing and getting stuck?     I think badmofos own wall texture will fit in really well yust maybe some more work on it to look more real.
    Thats up to badmofo if he wants me to look at it.:)
    And the door cant i see to much that have bin changed abit from here so i dont want to say to much as badmofo suprised me as i didt know that he had made this lobby untill i found these screenies here.
    As he lives in the usa and i in sweden so do we have an 8 hour time differrence.
    But our team work have worked well anyway but he is fast with displaying screenies so i have an hard time to follow up sometimes. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    great idea there.  the bright feeling seems too sweet to be NS, though.  to keep that feeling, id add some nice green hanging plants and stuff.

    This map really is loking very promising.  I have to congratulate the both of you!

    I love the idea of it over hanging the cliff, its a great looking scene.  I really love the geometry and the way you have managed to keep the r_speeds low.

    I'd say that it all looks really good so far.  With r-speeds where they are now, I think you should definitely add detail to that rec room.  It certainly looks to be quite a boring place for a person to spend their free time in now.  heh.

    Oh, and can I have your rock making skills?  I seem to have misplaced my own.

    I love the view from the outside - are there any intermission type camera thingies for NS? Being able to see things from that angle occasionally would be nice, even if it's just at the end of a game...

    yes - detail will be added and some geometry will change.  

    I know it's bright and Not NS'ish...but that's the point...i want to break things up a bit...add some flavor...it's still very sci-fi'ish.  Besides...this and the marine start are the only real outdoor areas that will be in the map.  I think they provide almost a "comforting" feeling to the marines after being inside a dark, damp, commotion filled base.  Besides...it's a nice contrast setup for the next room....coming soon.

    Good point bm. It will add to the <i>overall</i> contrast of the map. Great work.

    WOW that is very bright. i dont get what you said about the r_speeds though, they look fine to me. all i can say is i hope there are dark rooms inside the complex other wise the stradgy of this game would be gone and this map would become like HL deathmatch when it first came out. so what i'm trying to say is make sure there are plenty of dark rooms inside
