<div class="IPBDescription">for sony dcr-trv18 video camera</div> Does anyone have the drivers for a Sony DCR-TRV18 Mini DV Handycam?

I'm in a video editing class at school and we use Macs to edit video. Well, I checked out a camera for my project and I want to edit at home on my XP machine. Unfortunatly, I don't have firewire but the camera sais right on it that it supports USB.

I downloaded the manual from Sony and read up on how to do it, but I don't have the driver instalization CD. Does anyone have the driver CD that they can copy and send to me in IRC or AIM or an e-mail or somthing?

Did you check the Sony website? Drivers.com?

    Yes and Yes.

The only driver I found was for win 98se

The manual says XP and has directions for XP

Have you tried just connecting the camera to your XP machine? In my experience, XP has been very friendly with just about any peripheral I've tried to connect.

I'll try sniffing around in Google for some info.

EDIT: Not sure why I didn't think of this before. If it's this important, couldn't you just get a Firewire PCI card? Unless you have USB 2.0, that would be a more productive way of transfering video.

It is just for at home for now. I don't need firewire anyway.
