Beta Patch 2

<div class="IPBDescription">Not working..</div> Despite all that I've read here, the beta patch won't install itself.

1. I installed the beta 3_1
2. I downloaded the beta 3_2 patch
3. I ran the 3_2 patch in the right folder
4. Nothing happened
5. I downloaded it again from a different server
6. No progress

No error messages. When clicked, it just prompts for a second and then closes itself.
Advice ?

define 'nothing happened'

You say you 'ran it in the right folder', as in once it asked you what folder to install it to you told it ....steam\steamapps\youremail\half-life. (you didn't just c&p that line did you?)

did you actualy folow the directions (played HL via steam before installing beta 1)

little more info, or we can't do ANYTIHNG.

ok, nothing happened; as I said already, when I ran the beta_patch_2, it prompted for a second, and then closed itself = Nothing happened. It didn't ask anything, no text, no reports, no error messages, no message what so ever. Nothing. Just a black blank screen.

And for the 'did I copy&paste the example folder?' No, it didn't ask anything. I just tried to explain, that I downloaded it to the folder (steam\steamapps\*bleep*\half-life) and ran it from there.

ok, once more;

downloaded steam.
Installed it.
downloaded ns_beta1.
Installed it.
downloaded ns_beta2.
Tried to install it.

Forgot: Yes, I DID play hl and some other games trough steam before installing ns.

Heh, I just had a crazy idea;

Can I do it somehow manually? I mean, if it's just the dll-error (when joining game) then can't I just replace some files manually? Or does the patch_2 include huge renewals?

you can't play on the save server with out it.

1) When I gave you that path, that is where you are gona want to tell the installer to install to (this on actualy asks for a path and alot of people seem to have a hard time figguring out where to sintall it to)

You probably should just download it to your download dir and then run it from there (simple file managment)

ok, sounds like the patcher it self is borked.
My quick suggestion is a redownload.

If you wana make SURE that the file you download is not corupt.... (looks around for other thread, one sec)

Thats ok. I understand if you missed a reply. (Happens to me sometimes)
And I've noticed that every third post is the same here: Topic from hell and only 2 words in the whole thread = plz help!!!!!! Ah, finally! It worked, the BT actually worked. And now it installed the patch correctly.
