How The Hell Dose It Happance ?!

I realy injoy to play whith Skulk this little alien is realy kick ****
but i got this big problem...
I dyeng every attack and it very rear if i kill some marine before it happance...
So i think that i need some Noob Tips for Noobs <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It seams to be that if i play whith skulk i dye by 1 shot
and i cant get close to the target...
But when i play whith the marine i shoot the skulks but somehow
thay still get close to me...

So here is some questions:
1. How do i hunt whith skulk ? tips plz... anything...
2. how do i dodge the shots ?
3. when i charging a marin usaly i find myself missing him and then i die
and even if i hit he keeps shooting and i loose him out of the sight ( i tourn around and cant find him) what can i do about it ?

    Aliens are melee (close combat) fighters. They can do serious damage up close, so to be a good alien, you need to keep the distance between you can the marine as small as possible. The main way to do this is to parasite every marine that you see, and then running away and setting up an ambush just round a corner. Jump out on them or drop down from a dark corner. Only attack marines at the end of long corridoors if you really have to. You need to close the distance as fast as possible. Strafing left and right while moving or jumping forward will make it much more difficult for marines to hit you. Keep moving at right angles to thier line of fire, zig-zagging down the corridoor.

    As a marine, almost the exact opposite applies. Stay at the end of corridoors, look all around you when moving forward, and check everywhere when you turn a corner. To shoot the skulk, aim at its head, or just a little infront. If a skulk gets in close, keep jumping away from it, circle strafing. For long distances, use your pistol, when it gets in close, switch to lmg. If you have a shotty, do not fire until the last moment. Stand your ground, crouched in a corner facing the skulk and wait until it is almost upon you, then fire. There are 17 pellets in the shotty, each doing 10 damage. If they all hit, that is a total of 170 damage. 1 point blank shot will kill the skulk instantly.

    One tactic that works well against normal marines is to run at 90 degrees to the line of fire until they run out of ammo in their LMG and their pistol, <i>then</i> close for the kill.

Sorta like circle strafing, except you don't face them.

    exactly what Z.X. Bogglesteinsky said, its all about ambushing the marines, wait for them to come to you, if a single skulk can make a marine squad think twice about going down that particular hall, then that skulk has down his job.

    definition of 'skulk'

    a.To move about stealthily.
    b.One who hides, lurks, or practices evasion.
    c.A congregation of vermin, especially foxes, or of thieves. See Synonyms at flock

    that last one i dont quite understand.

    Ok so i will ambush
    but here is something i just cant understand
    There is Players (Skulks) that make like 4 kills in one attack
    How is it possible ?

    And one last question (i hope)
    When i strike a marine someone times he dodge and i miss him
    and then i loose him out of the sight is there any way i can avoid it ?

    wha tis the best skills for ambusher (skulk)

    You hunt white Skulks using rabbit as bait...a bear trap will usually take care of him...have a knife ready to put him out of his misery, though. Maybe something smaller if you want to eat him.

    Mmm...skulk burgers.

    Skilled skulks catch marine groups and run around the marines feet - noob marines stay too close and get in each others arc of fire.

    Best way to take a marine is get behind him, I tend to cling over doorways and wait for the rushing marine, once I am behind him he has little to no chance of surviving. You can also try walking when you get near where you suspect marines are, the click of skulks claws are very distinct and easy to hear.

    A word of warning though when marines get motion tracking you have to set up ambushs further away from where the marines are - if you sneak close and hide they can see where you stopped and rush and shoot you easily.

    Regarding the problem of losing view of your target if he dodges - all I can say its part of the game...you attack he dodges most likley you die, if not you got two options depending on local circumsatnces. 1] run away and setup ambush somewhere else - you lost the element of suprise so you have a disadvantage or 2] run in circles to re-orientate with your target (not reccomended unless you are in a group or theres is no where to run away (deadend), what ever you do do not STOP and look for your target.

    Skills to ambush:

    - know the maps - learn the most common paths from marine spawn to hives and double res
    - stealth - move quietly when you get near marines
    - don't be predictable - don't kill a marine and go back to the same spot, chances are that marine will be a bit more cautious when he gets near your ambush point.
    - don't waste res and a upgrade on redemption (<--NEVER) , a skulk is cheap and expendable.

    Thats my lot...don't know much about lerk - hardly use the critter I either gorge or skulk.

    The advise is mainly NS:Classic but many points can be applicable to combat with minor variations.

    A common mistake when learning is to spam bite. Don't bite unless the marines front of you.

    That way if/when the marine dodges your first attack as you only bit once you should have seen where he/she jumped and be able to track him/her.

    The exception to this is when you jump into a group of marines. As they'll get in each others way just jump around like a lunatic and spam bite.

    In combat I find it particularilly effective to get leap and focus first. Marines tend to get shotguns first so focus means one bite kills.

    You can allways turn slowly in the air(strafe in the same direction you are turning), this is very useful when leaping(never leap straight at marines, leaping slightly to the side of them and turning in their direction is much more evasive).

    this is probably too hard for him to start with.
