Will you announce the release a day or so before or will it be a surprise?

MonsE posted something about this a bit back... Flayra will announce that the code has gone gold, which means essentially a week until the public release.

We'll get a one day warning, the Linux server will be released a day before the NS client

Actually anyone remotely astute will get a weeks warning, first MonsE goes on a crazy PR blitz to hype interest for a total of 7 days, then NS is released, im also assuming there'll be an interestingly large release party on irc, feel free to come along ^_^

Gone Gold means it has begun replicating. They are making a bunch of CD's and when they finish, they will ship them to stores. Nuh uh.

Thats gold in the traditional since of gaming Tycho,  but for MOD's it means if is finished and ready to be released and all they need to do is upload it to a bunch of servers.

Well I suppose it would mean in this case that the mod has been finalised and is ready to be packed and shipped into an installer and distribtured to all the mirrors... Sort of comparable I suppose. Anyway its just jargin, when you hear gone gold you think.. oh that means its done and I'll have it soon.

The release will be preceded by a gigantic PR blitz that will be one week long. You'll know.
