Welders!

holy grail of 3.0
I'll go strait to the point: welders = armor = life in 3.0, whether you are a HA, JP, or LA marine. If your group of marines does not have a welder in it, you're just asking for it. If you have a welder, keep an eye on your buddies' armor levels, and keep them as close to 100% as possible. If you are on the recieving side of a welder, don't run away from the guy trying to help you! When you hear the welder sound, slow down for a moment. You like being alive, right?

In classic, this means just dropping a few. They cost 5 each, but will keep competant marines alive for a long time. Give it to somebody who will actually use it.

In combat, everyone on the team should spend at least one point on the support upgrades: mines, scanner, and welder. MT doesn't count, as it only effects you. Half the team should probably have welders, and use them!

The prob is teamwork though...Especially in Combat, however yes welders are brilliant. in a combat pcw the other day we had 2 base guards who got support upgrades, and all we had to do to survive 2 focus bites was just run back into base and get welded...twas well good! but how are you gonna get something like that done in public i wonder

Teamwork was rather the point. I think people just don't know better yet. Marines used to be able to get by with 0 armor and have little trouble, unless they were an HA, so it's easy to see where people could get the opposite idea.
