Cell Carrier Change

<div class="IPBDescription">Need some info on phones!</div> My Sprint agreement is just about up. My Samsung A-460 is a tired old beast. I need to upgrade.

I'm planning on moving over to Verizon, after some research into each carrier. I found reviews for Verizon, but very few for the phones in my price range. I was hoping that some folks here would have some information from personal experiences.

These are the phones I am currently considering:

Motorola C343
Nokia 3589i
Kyocera KX414
Motorola T720

Any information you may be able to present on the above models would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    <a href='http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/301187/ref=w_hp_ct_6_2/102-1351401-2796967' target='_blank'>Check out Amazon's Cell Phone page</a>

    They got some crazy deals on expensive phones (like a $300 phone for free) if you're willing to do the service agreement thing.

    I highly recommend the <a href='http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/wireless/B0000DIXEV/ref=amb_bl_54534/102-1351401-2796967' target='_blank'>Motorola MPx200</a>. I love mine, it runs NES and Gameboy and Atari 2600 emulators, and more :D

    At last! A phone that has solitaire <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The Samsung E715 is a good phone. A friend has it but it's a little out of my range. I use the Motorola V525.

    Yes, I can play Solitare if I ever get bored of Mega Man 2, Castlevania, Pitfall, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, Zelda, Metroid, Metroid 2, Contra, ... well, you get the idea. :)

    I have experience only from Nokia phones so I'll just recommend those <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    And I would get one with mp3 player, radio and camera. Maybe something from the 6000 or 8000 series.

    I absolutely <b>hate</b> fold-over phones, or ones with flip covers. One slip up where it lands on the joint and it snaps in half.

    I like them tbh. They provide a little protection should you drop them.

    I deliberately keep my fones for ages till they are rediculously out of date coz nobody wan't to steal an old phone. Also people seem to foget the purpose of a phone aswell. It's for talking to people not taking fotos sending e-mails and all that pap.

    Snaped in half just from touching them?

    What kind of force to you exert just from trying to hold the thing? You're not supposed to strangle the phone to death. :P

    I mean... If you drop it and it hits the ground. If it lands on the joint, they're probably going to break, depending on the materials used.

    If you drop your phone you're probably screwed anyway. :P

    The MPx200 has an extra strong hinge thingy though, so if that's a concern I recommend it if you get a flip-phone.

    wow... dmaniac, you can buy your phone for like 70 bux 0_0

    Yeah. And its only $70 cause the mail-in rebate from AT&T isn't going on anymore. Last December the phone was actually *FREE* (after rebates).

    Also I highly suggest printing out the amazon.com page, going to the local store and making them match it. That's what I did. I got my phone instantly instead of having to wait on it to ship, and I didn't have to wait on the 3rd party amazon rebates as AT&T matched the price. :D

    Doom, I really am looking for a basic phone. I don't need all that stuff. It does look rather inexpensive, but I am a bit fearful of ATnT. Of all the companies, they seemed the least friendly in my area, back when I looked for a phone last year. Perhaps things have changed. Thanks for the info!
