<div class="IPBDescription">Ns developments</div>Hey I was just wondering, I am a bit of a modification freak in some cases, Just wondering if I could have all the RC's when NS1.0 is out. Textures haven't changed since playtesting began, even back before the RC's. There were numerous screenshot threads which showed off old models, sprites, HUDs, and maps. And the splash was just the standard HL one before it was replaced.
And I fail to see how any of it was wasted. It was a step in the 'evolutionary process' of the game to where we stand today. Without it, we wouldn't be where we are today, and it's often best to let dead dogs, um, remain dead.
yea, its always good to have the old versions of the mod <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
RC stands for "Release Candidate" - a build that may or may not be suitable for public release. I dare say CS Old School is based on one of the early public releases - NOT on development code.
Every RC that is *not* released has bugs that make it absolutely unsuitable. In some, the waypoints are severely messed up. In others, a particular weapon/ability is overpowered. In others, the resources are pitifully slow, or insanely fast.
Yes, I understand you want to see the bugs for learning purposes. However, using Old School CS as an argument is inherently flawed.
Additionally, I think Flayra will be reluctant to release his code... I know I would, especially considering the recent HLRally/HL Street Racing fiasco.
