Bah, I had a temper tantrum the other day and uninstalled all of it, too much of classic ns pivots on the ability of your teammates to take down Combat-trained, Carapace super skulks with lvl 0 (<b>sometimes</b> greater) lmg's and pistols.
And dammit aliens move fast, I really don't know what the hell is going on with some lerks, they come in, they bite through a marine or two, and they're gone. I can usually wing even a very fast alien once or twice, but I've been playing NS nearly everyday since 2.0, I'd hate to be a newbie now.
At least in combat I'm not doomed to lose horribly with only an lmg and a pistol regardless of my playing ability.
Normal ns are still good because the maps are cool and yah team work games are fun and building stuffs are fun too. Combat are for less people in a server and pplz who just dun feel like playing complicated games.
combats good so's ns but its allways good to have a good rotation unless its a map you've never been on.heres a example on battle for the galaxy i was playing a game on saturday for 4 hours and it was ns_rampage And after while it got booring so i left after making a few hives i said laterz its been fun then went to combat.

Combat feels like cs to me. I love classic NS because it gives you that team feeling. So if you're getting, the whole team is. I dunno, kind of hard to explain how classic is alot more fun than combat.
imo, NS:C is great because, it gets rid of all the retards that used to be in NS. Ergo the usual game of NS is of higher quality and generally better teamwork... more fun! stop complaining.
I wouldn't mind some adjustments to combat that moves it more towards a classic mode for fewer players. I really don't know what Flayra is trying to do with it seeing as some of his ideals for combat mode seem to conflict with each other, but it's been interesting to watch.

ARGH! I play regularly on a few servers that I'm familiar to and trust. They're all full apart from the next one again, I went to play on my beloved ns_veil but they had to change to co_faceoff because there were 4 of us playing in game and 7 stacking the ready room! GG! :<
It's true combat is the reason people are mad. I think it should be there, but its good for when in ocasion the sever/game has small ammonts of people. On the other NS maps were the reason people came to this game and enjoy it beccause its not all about the anyoing kill them all you win. Ns adds their sense of stategty and not just killing idiodic pleasure. All the other mods are ALL alike a simple deathmatch and its just simply getting old. I don't like how in small amounts of people where the Ns maps on marines are imposssiple to get a good movement. If you have atleast 4 people fighting + the commander its limpossible to hold ground. I also think more levels should be created . Theres seems to be a sense of limitation. and out of the blue, singleplayer would be incredible interesting with a story would be very cool. Also add in some simple made bots for multiplayer could become very usefull in practice games on people's own. But, in concclusion NS needs to live and grow. Co is just a nusence to me in my opion. All im saying is its "OK" in some ocasions.
Some of this has already been said, so the reiteration is for the sake of emphasis.
I keep reading posts about people bitching about how 3.0 is all about combat. What irritates me is people are ignoring an important point. The fact of the matter is NO ONE HAS PLAYED 3.0 YET!!! All we have been playing is THE BETA!
Seeing as Combat is an altogether new addition to the natural-selection universe, it makes sense that right now the NS guys’ main concern is making Combat balanced. If you don’t like Combat as much as you do classic, good for you and welcome to the club. But, try to have a little gratitude. They released a product that wasn’t perfected (I use that term loosely) to get our input. If right now they are at work fixing issues on Combat, well, either stop playing or dig in for the long haul.
I’ve read somewhere in this veritable tremulous sea of posts, that Combat was never intended to be a stand-alone version of NS. So, if it falls short of the level of detailed tactics, strategy, and overall coolness we have come to expect from the NS Classic vane, realize that Combat is not and was never meant to be the next NS.
Instead, try to appreciate Combat for what it is; a change of pace. In Combat you don’t need to worry about moronic teammates ignoring the commander, or res-whoring skulks who **** about needing DCs and wonder why their res are coming so slow when they haven’t put up any rts. It is simply some mindless fun where you don’t have to worry beyond what gun\evolution you are going to get for yourself and putting the bullets\teeth in the skulks\vanilla rines. I don’t know about you, but after about two maps of classic with idiots on my team, the opportunity to go and make them feel my wrath by fragging those CS nubs (no offense guys, I used to play and <3 CS religiously once long ago), is a welcome option.
I’m not saying everybody doesn’t get this (though some of you don’t). And I agree that playing combat 24-7 is rather tiresome. But frankly, you don’t have to. I’m sure there are servers that are playing Classic just as much as I’m sure there are servers playing Combat.

yes, I am frustraighted when I'm looking through suggestions/balance issue threads and see the words "It would be overpowered in combat". WHO CARES ABOUT COMBAT?
Welcome to www.natural-selection.org, please note this is not www.Combat.com
Things would be much better. All thats going to happen is people will play on mode non-stop and become incredibly bored with it, and then decide to try the other mode for a while.
