Koss and Platronics make some really good sets.  I use an older Koss R/50B, it has excellent sound, as well as a high quality voice mic, and comfortable to wear.

there's no need to spend all your cash. I went to wal-mart and picked up a cheap LabTech headset for I think around $15. It's mono (only 1 earpiece), but I don't use the headphone part of it, only the mic, which is a very, very, very good mic. Many people have told me that my voice comms come clearer than most other people's. I usually just wear it around my neck if I have headphones on.

If you have one of those freestanding mics(the kind with the little stand) you can do wht I did:  I duct taped it to the side of my walkman headphones.

And then my dog ate the mic.
