Computer Continually Freezes Up Mid Game =(

I just got NS for steam about a week ago. It was working fine when I first got it. Then I got a new sound card so I could use my mic. After I put the new soundcard in, NS has continually frozen up on me mid game after playing for about an hour. It never fails. I can't control alt delete, alt f4, or alt tab. I have to manually restart my computer. I can only assume that it's something with the soundcard that is causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any settings I should adjust in the NS options menu? Oh, the soundcard I bought is an Audigy 2 ZS, btw. Thanks.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, everytime it freezes, it emits a high pitched tone from my speakers.

Ok, the amount of time that I can play before everything freezes is dropping dramatically. I just entered a game and within the first five minutes my computer froze. WTH IS GOING ON!?!!?

    Wow triple post.

Anyway, to fix that problem, uninstall tyour old soundcards drivers. And reinstall the sound drivers for your current card.

Ok, I took out my new sound card, reinstalled the drivers for my integrated sound and everything works fine. Am I just SOL on this sound card? Or does anyone know what I can do to get it working with ns?

So you have uninstalled your sound card drivers? and turned off your onboard in BIOS then installed your new sound card and drivers?

Also does this happen in any other games/applications?

you wana make sure that the old drivers are fully uninstalled and that the card is turned off in the bios.

then install the new card and drivers (and then update the drivers)
