Why Does Blood Taste So Good?

this may sound inhumane
I cut myself with a knife and found it irresistably attractive to suck out the dark blood that came out along the front and back of my ring finger. As I did, I felt a feeling that tastes like none other. It tasted good and I kept on sucking...I really don't know why, but I had the slight curiosity....Like they say, curiosity killed the cat...Anyways, don't think I am a cannibal.
So what do you make of it?

I didn't cut myself, I accidentally did it...
The sucking of a wound is in effect an attempt to remove debris from the wound, limiting the risk of infection.
You like it because you are supposed to like it.

Who said you did?
But it sure does taste good for probably the reasons mentioned above.
EDIT: Its funny that some people think they are vampires.
I'd consider that okay as long as you have their permission..and you're not cutting arteries or anything.
Actually on topic, the most blood I taste is usually from bloody noses, which...doesn't taste good at all, it's incredibly iron-y and copperish, and usually involves me spitting because with a bloody nose there's lots of mucus in there.
If I accidently cut my finger or something, than it's fine to lick it, because as stated before (indirectly) saliva is a good cleaning agent, and blood by itself isn't overly bad.
There's no way I could stand to drink it though, it just doesn't taste good as a food like that. I'd rather eat so many foods than blood .
blood DOES taste yummy. whenever I accidentally bite my cheek (GOD I hate that), that's the one good thing that comes of it... so sweet and salty and tangy... must be the carnivore in me calling (I'm a vegetarian)...
I do like rare meat, though I haven't eaten any recently thanks to trichinosis (sp?), mad cow disease, and the H5 "Chicken Flu."
Not like bloody nose bleeding, that's full of boogers.
Like when you cut your arm or finger.

Does a bloody nose taste different compared to a cut?
Anyways, I find my blood tastes kinda metallic.

A bloddy nose has lots of bacteria and mucus (which, besides being unhealthy, and possibly full of disease - since the main point of your nose is air filtration - dilutes the blood and fills it with gross globs...it's really disgusting. Not to be gross but, if I have a bloody nose I can feel a giant lugey going back by throat and I hack until I can spit it out, because it tastes horrible and it's bad for you.
If you get a cut on your finger, sort of suck on your finger. It cleans it and for me, whether mental or physical, is a mild anesthetic - as I said before, you can eat much better tasting things that are better for you than blood.
PS. Ms Kate beckinsale....if your reading this, please marry me K THNX bai!
Who are you to say that they are immoral, unethical, disgusting, wrong?
As long as they are willing, consenting, they're [individually or if they do it in groups...] not hurting or affecting anyone else, and it's legal, then it's fine by me.
Just don't come along and force blood down my throat, or cut me, and I'm happy for you
