Yup, I don't think it's vastly superior to all of them, simply because of it's combat system it becomes my favorite. With FFX in a very close second. Ah what the hell, my favorite FF's in order:

FFV
FFX
FFVI
FFVII
FFIV
FFIX
FFVIII(blech)

Never played the NES ones.

Chrono Trigger is the king of RPG's though. RPG's just haven't been the same since SNES.

OK.

Favorite PC Singleplayer: Deus Ex. Period.
Favorite PC Multiplayer: NS (you wouldn't have guessed, would you? )

Favorite console Singleplayer: Chrono Trigger. Definetely the best 'eastern' RPG.

Favorite console Multiplayer: Super Mario Kart (SNES). The only 'racer' I can play for more than four consecutive minutes.

Other great games: Final Fantasy Legend (GB), Super Metroid, Breath of Fire 2 (SNES), Civilization (1. Forget the sequles.), Pirates! Gold, Baldurs Gate 2, Planescape: Torment, Star Craft, Undying, War Craft 3, HL.

Single Player : Fallout 2
Multi-Player : Day of Defeat (until NS Im sure)

I'd have to say the best all around game though... ET for Atari. I think it was Atari? Not sure, but I DO know that it was so great, the company buried all the copies in New Mexico to keep the hordes of people that wanted the game from burning their offices... Man I loved the holes you had to search... woo doggy!
