*This is not a suggestion, just a bit of my imagination*
...NS were ported to Unreal Tournament 2004?
I just played the demo and damn, I've rarely had that much fun. The map with the vehicles was godly. I'm sitting here thinking about stuff like aliens and marine dogfights and vehicle warfare. It would be tight as hell =).

The engine valve designed for HL2.
You lot haven't even tried it yet so how will you know that it will be great?
(oh, and if you're saying UT2004 isn't designed mostly for human-based interactions, then you're wrong)
You mean ALICE, the idea of mechs and such is nice in NS but i feel it would take away from the atmosphere the game makers have tryed so hard to produce. I fear it would end up being like Tribes 2 or Planetside.
Perhaps some outdoor maps yes but i dont really see the need for mechs/airships.
You could do things with the idea yes, you could spawn on a ship orbiting the planet and have to get the first dropship down to the planet to get to the actual location you are fighting in, sort of a ready room opening demo type thing.
Thier are many things you could do with the idea that doesnt actually involve combat.
You'll proburly be able to play half life ns for a while after ns2 comes out, if it does - and it'll proburly be months before ns2 would be ready for play testing, nevermind public release.
btw, wasn't the souce code for souce leaked out about 6 months ago, and didn't someone compile a demo of it?
If that was the case then some members of the public WILL have played it.
Btw, a dropship would be cool

Yeah, actually they are selling hacked versions of hl2 in russia, the only poblem is that they are missing half of the story, the models suck, the textures suck, and basically everything but the engine sucks.

The mechs was more of a joke then a real thought. I can see something like this tho, A faroff marine base is under heavy alien attack, the PG jsut went down. The last marine is about to fall along with the base. All of the sudden a APC comes screaming up spins side ways and the bay door opens to show 6 HA's march out. Now that sounds like alot of fun. The one problem i see with out door maps (this is going with the weapons are like in NS now i'm sure they will have to be fixed) is lerks or fades whould clean up because there weapons don't seem to have range limits.
